BERWICKSHIRE COAST

Saturday 22 May 2010

Distance: 11 miles

Grading: Moderate/Strenuous

Our May walk is led by ornithologist Richard Watt, who is highly experienced in his field. Richard leads us on a fascinating tour of the National Trust seabird colony at St. Abb’s Head (usually such colonies are not found on the mainland). We can enjoy spectacular views of the sea stacks and the noisy crowded seabird colonies where we will see Guillemots, Razor Bills and Kittiwakes close at hand, nesting on the cliffs.  If we are lucky we will see Puffins too.  In addition we might see Ravens, Peregrine Falcons, Wheat Ear and many more (last year we recorded 40 different species on this walk.)

This utterly exhilarating walk includes some of the most dramatic – yet comparatively unknown – scenery on the east coast of Scotland:  a walk of natural, geological and pre-historic interest.

We have tea at St. Abbs Head.

To book a place on this walk, please go to our Bookings page or contact us directly.

Price £16 per person.
