Learmont Mackenzie Travel, otherwise known as walkborders.com, was created by Alastair Learmont and Kitty Bruce-Gardyne (Mackenzie) in 2006. Since then we have led more than thirty day walks through the Scottish Borders and organised numerous self-guided routes.

An advocate by profession, with a background in the classics, Alastair has extensive experience leading group walks in Scotland, as well as further afield in Italy and France.  He has a particular interest in Borders history and folklore.

With a background in marketing, Kitty Bruce-Gardyne spent six years in Italy working at the British Chamber of Commerce, and as a tour guide in Tuscany and Umbria.  She speaks Italian, Spanish and French.  

Frank Ribbons has been mountaineering and leading groups into wild places for the past 30 years and has extensive knowledge of the west coast of Scotland including Mull and Skye. He speaks English, German and can get by in the guid scots brogue too.
