Combining the pleasures and companionship of walking with the
attractions of the Scottish countryside, its history and culture
Learmont Mackenzie Travel, created by Alastair Learmont and
Kitty Bruce-Gardyne (Mackenzie) in 2006, seeks to
combine the pleasures and companionship of walking with the attractions of the
Scottish countryside, its history and culture. Whilst our approach to a weekend
is designed to be informative, the atmosphere is informal. Our walking – escorted and supported
throughout – is not competitive.Both
Alastair and Kitty bring their own individual knowledge and experience to Learmont Mackenzie walking breaks. An advocate by profession, with a background
in the classics, Alastair has extensive experience leading group walks in Scotland, as
well as further afield in Italy and France. He has a particular interest in Borders
history and folklore and is a passionate musician.

family. Both Alastair and Kitty are keenly aware of the importance of the
Borders in the story of Scotland.
